XATHERYN SEARCH

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Xatheryn Search (“Search,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our web search engine (the “Service”). By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

1. What Search Is Not

Search is a general web search engine: you give it a query, it returns pages from our own index of the public web. Search is not, and will never be used as, a people-search or likeness-matching tool. We do not take your name, photo, posts, contacts, or any other information about you from your Xatheryn account and use it to hunt for you, or anyone else, elsewhere on the web. Anything Search returns comes from matching your typed query against our own crawled index — never from cross-referencing a person’s identity or likeness against the open web using data held anywhere else in the Xatheryn ecosystem.

2. Information We Collect

Search queries. The text you type into the search bar, so we can return results for it. If you are signed in, your query is also saved to your search history as described in Section 3; if you are not signed in, it is used only to serve that one search and is not retained tied to an account.

Account information. Search shares one account with the rest of the Xatheryn ecosystem (see Section 3 and our Xatheryn Connect Privacy Policy for how that shared account itself is secured). We do not maintain a separate Search-only password or credential.

Technical and usage information. We collect the IP address associated with search requests for rate-limiting and abuse prevention (for example, detecting automated scraping of search results), and basic request logs for reliability and security purposes.

3. Search History and the Shared Xatheryn Account

Signing in lets Search remember your search history across sessions and devices, using the same account you use for Xatheryn Connect and Xatheryn Relay — one sign-in, shared across the ecosystem, rather than a separate account per product. Your search history is visible only to you and is used only to show it back to you; it is not shared with other Xatheryn products, used to target advertising, or sold. You can clear individual searches or your entire history at any time from your account settings.

4. Our Index and Content Safety

Our index is built by crawling the public web. Before any page is added to the index, it passes through a content-safety check that blocks categories including child sexual abuse material, illegal marketplaces, malware distribution, and scam content outright, and screens adult content using both an automated filter and a contextual AI second opinion to avoid over-blocking legitimate content (such as news coverage or educational material) while still keeping genuinely unsafe material out of results. Pages we decline to index are never stored or surfaced, regardless of what a search query asks for.

5. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to: (a) return search results for your query; (b) maintain your search history if you are signed in; (c) detect and prevent abuse of the Service, such as automated scraping; and (d) maintain and improve our index and its content-safety systems.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your search history with anyone, including other Xatheryn products, except: (a) with service providers who help us operate the Service, bound to use information only for that purpose; (b) if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; or (c) as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a successor policy of which you will be notified.

7. Sponsored Results

Search does not currently sell sponsored placements. If we introduce them in the future, they will always be clearly labeled as sponsored and kept visually and structurally separate from organic results — never blended into the results your query actually matched. Sponsored results, if introduced, would not be targeted using data from other Xatheryn products.

8. Data Retention

Saved search history is retained until you delete it or close your account. Search requests from signed-out visitors are not retained tied to any identity. Server logs used for abuse prevention are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You can view and delete your search history at any time from your account settings. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information. You may exercise these rights by contacting us at the email address in Section 12.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date.
